The luxury real estate market west of Boston is thriving, with significant interest in properties priced above $5 million. Recent trends indicate en-suite bathrooms in every bedroom and an increasing preference for homes that accommodate extended family, including separate living spaces. With only seven homes above $7 million available recently, buyers are eager for open layouts and entertaining spaces while collaborating with developers for customized features. The addition of smart-home technology and recreational amenities also enhances attractiveness among prospective buyers.
"Over ten properties above $5 million have gone under agreement since the last week of November, signaling renewed confidence in the high-end market," Lara O'Rourke noted.
"Between Newton and Brookline, there have been just seven houses priced above $7 million in the last six months," Jeff Groper stated, highlighting the tight inventory in luxury homes.
"Buyers are looking for private space for parents whether they will be visiting or staying with them for extended periods of time," Andrea Murphy Jackson explained, underlining a trend in luxury home attributes.
"Buyers have become more at ease with collaborating with developers, ensuring they'll get the items on their wish-lists," Jackson shared, emphasizing customization in current luxury real estate trends.
