Price per square foot in New York City decreased 0.4% from the prior month, compared with a 0.8% national decrease. Inventory in the city totaled 6,081 homes for sale, up 1.7% month-over-month but down 8.4% year-over-year. National active inventory rose 0.2% to 1,100,407. Homes in New York City averaged 84 days on market in September, nine days faster than the previous month and six days faster than the same month last year, versus 62 days nationally.
