Morgan Levine, a ceramicist, and her husband have marked 12 years in their Brooklyn apartment, unusual for New Yorkers. Morgan initially lived nearby but seized the chance to move to a garden apartment in the same building. Recently, they upgraded to a top-floor unit, drawn by its ample sunlight, despite quirks in layout and features. They undertook renovations with the help of Transcend Construction, adapting the space to meet their needs while addressing its unique challenges.
I worked out of my basement as a stylist, but as I shifted my career focus to ceramics, I realized I needed more studio space.
At the same time, the residents on the top floor decided to move, and it seemed like a perfect time to renovate that unit.
There were some quirks. For example, the new unit was slightly smaller, so the couple had to get creative with storage.
Morgan worked with Nick Caraguilo at Transcend Construction to reimagine the apartment.
