Pilot Pete Cappio, recently departing from the airport, shared visuals on TikTok showing numerous planes waiting to take off, highlighting the frustration among passengers. The FAA’s recent decision to cut flight numbers exacerbated the issues, with construction and controller shortages contributing to an unprecedented backlog. Despite the chaos, Cappio commended the remaining air traffic controllers for their efforts under challenging conditions.
