United Airlines and JetBlue strike deal that will impact fliers' points, return United to JFK airport
Briefly

United Airlines and JetBlue's partnership will enhance travel options for their frequent flyer programs, allowing members to earn and use points on both airlines. United will reclaim slots at JFK Airport while JetBlue gets slots at Newark. The deal supports regulatory review and will enable the two airlines to manage their networks independently. JetBlue's CEO emphasized the benefit to TrueBlue members, while United's CEO noted the additional value for MileagePlus members. The arrangement begins rolling out this fall as technical details are finalized.
"United's global reach perfectly complements JetBlue's East Coast leisure network, and significantly expands the options and benefits for TrueBlue members, no matter where in the world they are traveling," JetBlue CEO Joanna Geraghty said.
"We're always looking for ways to give our MileagePlus members even more value and benefits and this collaboration gives them new, unique ways to use their hard-earned miles and find options that fit their schedule," Kirby said.
