Texas led 62-53 with 2:56 remaining but NC State mounted a furious comeback, scoring 10 points in 1:12 to tie the game at 66-66. Mark's clutch shot secured the victory and advanced Texas to face BYU in the first round. Mark finished with 17 points, while Matas Vokietaitis added 15 and Dailyn Swain contributed 13 for the Longhorns. Darrion Williams led NC State with 21 points.
