Greenlaw, one of the Broncos' biggest additions in free agency earlier this year, was formally ruled out for the opener with a thigh injury."
"He hadn't played in the preseason, but he's gotten a lot of work. We are being smart. We're being conservative relative to the approach. It's a long season. Dre Greenlaw was formally ruled out for the Broncos' season opener against the Tennessee Titans because of a thigh injury. He missed the offseason program after suffering a thigh injury in training and then suffered another thigh issue in training camp that coach Sean Payton called "different" than the original injury. Greenlaw did not play in the preseason. He practiced Monday but did not practice the rest of the week and was ruled out Friday. Payton declined to elaborate whether the injury was an aggravation or a new setback and emphasized a conservative approach to keep Greenlaw healthy for the long season.
