Christian Gonzalez's playoff debut ended early after head injury

Patriots cornerback Christian Gonzalez left the fourth quarter of the 16-3 win over the Chargers with a head injury and was downgraded from questionable to out. Gonzalez did not speak after the game, though a report indicated he felt fine. The Pro Bowl cornerback was targeted five times with no completions and recorded two pass breakups. Next Gen Stats credited him with a league-low -9.7 receptions over expected this season, including playoffs. It was his first playoff game since being a 2023 first-round pick out of Oregon. The Patriots allowed 159 passing yards and recorded five sacks. Gonzalez's status for the divisional round is unclear.
