Mason Crosby, the Green Bay Packers' all-time leading scorer, announced his retirement from football after 17 seasons during his radio show. The 40-year-old kicker expressed gratitude for his career, particularly his time with the Packers from 2007 to 2022. Crosby made 81.3% of field goals and 97.2% of extra points, scoring 1,918 points for Green Bay, a franchise record. Although he played three games for the New York Giants in 2023, his legacy remains tied to his contributions to the Packers, including nine NFC North championships and a Super Bowl victory.
I'm just so, so thankful, so grateful for the opportunity to come to Green Bay in 2007, drafted in the sixth round out of the University of Colorado, to become a Packer and to be a part of this fraternity and legacy, the history of the Green Bay Packers.
For me, I was always a 'we' guy. We're doing this. We're dominating and winning the NFC North nine times while I was a Green Bay Packer for 16 years, making the playoffs, winning the Super Bowl as a team.
Crosby's 1,918 points with Green Bay gave him 864 more than any other Packer. Ryan Longwell ranks second on Green Bay's career scoring list with 1,054 points from 1997-2005.
Crosby made 81.3% of his career field-goal attempts (400 of 492) and 97.2% of his extra points (739 of 760) during a career spent almost entirely in Green Bay.
