Mike Vrabel is already paying the price for Bill Belichick's massive draft mistakes
Briefly

The NFL roster cut deadline passed, producing a temporary Patriots 2025 roster that is expected to change before Week 1. Mike Vrabel indicated substantial roster movement is likely, aided by a No. 4 waiver position. Recent cuts included 2022 first-rounder Cole Strange, underscoring a string of subpar draft classes attributed to previous coaching staffs. Analysts note very few remaining draft picks from the 2021-24 classes. Several younger players, including Javon Baker, Marte Mapu, Caedan Wallace and fifth-rounder Bradyn Swinson, face uncertain futures. Questions also remain surrounding kicker Andres Borregales.
The NFL's roster cut deadline has come and passed, and now we know what the Patriots' 2025 roster will look like, at least, for the next few days. Mike Vrabel has already stated that the initial roster won't look at all the same come Week 1, so plenty of changes are set to take place, especially since they land at No. 4 in the waiver wire.
With the latest batch of cuts, which included 2022 first-round pick Cole Strange, it's more than apparent that the previous coaching staffs have made it difficult for the team to be successful, given years of subpar draft classes in a row. It has prompted analysts and fans to look back on the last few classes, with the Boston Herald's Zack Cox emphasizing how few Patriots draft picks remain after today's cutdown.
It has long been a part of what has plagued the team the most in recent years, and partly why Robert Kraft made the decision to fire Bill Belichick last year. The hope is that with the new regime in charge, things will change, but even that is questionable with some of the decisions they made with this year's draft class.
