"I hear there's a lot of good Italian food, so I'm looking forward to trying it out and embracing all the culture around here."
"It was something I had a feeling was going to happen, something I was hoping was going to happen, especially with where they were ranked in the claims order,"
"I was very excited to get here. I've had a lot of prior coaches who have been part of this organization before, know a lot of coaches and people in the business, so I had a lot of good insight."
Tommy DeVito was claimed off waivers by the New England Patriots a day after the New York Giants released him. DeVito expected the claim given New England's waiver position and prior coaching connections. The Patriots already have Drake Maye and Joshua Dobbs, but added DeVito despite a crowded quarterback room. New York signed Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston and Jaxson Dart this offseason, signaling DeVito's likely departure despite solid relief play. Over two seasons DeVito appeared in 12 games with five starts, completing 65.3 percent of passes for eight touchdowns and three interceptions. He completed 17 of 20 passes for 198 yards and three touchdowns against New England in preseason and expressed excitement about joining New England and its culture.
