""The way [FanDuel] see[s] it ... we got this money fair and clear. It's not our problem that we have to forfeit it back to you.""
""illegally borrow[ed] money by using the Jaguars company credit card""
FanDuel agreed to pay the Jacksonville Jaguars approximately $5 million after a former Jaguars finance manager stole roughly $22 million through a virtual credit card system and lost nearly $20 million betting at the sportsbook. The settlement was finalized in early 2025. The manager, Amit Patel, pleaded guilty to wire fraud and illegal monetary transaction, was sentenced in March 2024 to six years, and later faced a Florida organized fraud charge. The Jaguars sued Patel seeking $66.6 million in damages, and the NFL encouraged a resolution between the team and FanDuel.
