"I love Tutu. Love everything he's about,"
"Would like to be able to figure out a way to get him going and get him involved and if that fits for the collective relative to the 48, there's a lot of factors in that."
"Atwell has done "everything that he can control" but "certain roles and rhythms are established relative to special teams" and the personnel required from various position groups."
Tutu Atwell signed a one-year, $10 million contract with the Rams but recorded only four catches before a hamstring injury placed him on injured reserve in late October. The Rams did not activate Atwell for the 31-28 loss to the Carolina Panthers, with Xavier Smith filling the speedy receiver role and producing three catches for 82 yards, including a 51-yard play. Activation decisions are influenced by the 48-player game-day limit, personnel groupings, and special-teams requirements. Some activation factors are outside the player's control despite his efforts. The team seeks ways to involve Atwell when roster circumstances allow.
