Briefly

"Our time has come that we deserve an outdoor game. We're fired up to have it right here locally," said Panthers president Matt Caldwell.
"Stanley Cups, strings of sellouts and the exponential growth of youth and high school hockey throughout the state have demonstrated that Florida is a hockey hotbed," NHL commissioner Gary Bettman noted.
The Panthers or Lightning have been involved in each of the past five Stanley Cup Finals, which highlights the growing popularity of hockey in Florida.
The NHL will host the 2026 Winter Classic at loanDepot park, marking a pivotal moment for outdoor hockey in South Florida.
