"We've got to start games faster," Mayo said. "We've got to start games faster, and that's definitely a point of emphasis this week."
"We have to start faster. It's been bad this year," said offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt. "We put a lot of time and effort into the first 15, and we haven't gotten that done yet."
"We have a period in practice [Wednesday] where it's like nothing else really matters. It's not about X's and O's and schematics," he said.
"Our issues include falling behind quickly. We can't keep digging ourselves into holes we can't climb out of," added Mayo.
