Michael Boitano, 40, an athletic director with the New York City Department of Education, exchanged Snapchat messages with a then-16-year-old student in October and allegedly sent a picture of his genitals. The married teacher reportedly asked the student if she would kiss him in an explicit message. Several classmates were told and alerted school staff, who contacted authorities. Boitano was arrested and arraigned in Brooklyn Criminal Court on charges including disseminating indecent material to minors, official misconduct, and endangering the welfare of a child. He was released on $10,000 bond and ordered to have no contact with the student.
