That led Havolli, 41, to try and detain the suspect, who claimed he entered the building to visit a family member, for cops, tenants said."

The superintendent wrapped his arms around the man to hold him for police and was struck with a cellphone during the struggle. The superintendent declined medical attention, returned to his apartment, and collapsed while showering, later dying of an apparent heart attack. The suspect remained in police custody without charges as officials await autopsy results to determine cause of death. Tenants said package thefts have plagued the building recently.
