Don't Panic: You Can Get Your Erewhon Smoothies to Go in NYC
"Erewhon - the Los Angeles grocer famous for its expensive, celebrity-backed smoothies to the level that there's an entire economy of dupes of the colorful adaptogen libations - is indeed opening in New York. The first East Coast location isn't a full-on grocery store, though; the small space is a drinks-only outpost, called a "tonic bar," within forthcoming private members club Kith Ivy, which means the menu will be available in-person to members only. But also! Nonmembers will be able to order the drinks through third-party delivery apps Postmates and Uber Eats within an unspecified distance around the club, per a spokesperson."
"Hip street apparel brand Kith's CEO, Ronnie Fieg, is opening a private members' and padel club, Kith Ivy, in the West Village on 120 Leroy Street at Greenwich Street (people in the neighborhood aren't too happy about it) in 2025. Emily Sundberg of the FeedMe Substack noticed that the floor plans, which Fieg posted on Instagram, included an Erewhon. Kith Ivy's initiation fee is $36,000 with $7,000 in annual dues. Moroccan restaurant Cafe Mogador will also be opening a new location within Kith Ivy, where there will be a dress code, and anyone who "does not appear sufficiently well-presented" won't get in."
Erewhon will open a New York outpost as a small, drinks-only "tonic bar" rather than a full grocery store. The tonic bar will sit inside the private members club Kith Ivy in the West Village and will serve in-person to members. Nonmembers will be able to order Erewhon drinks through Postmates and Uber Eats within an unspecified radius around the club. Kith Ivy will be a private members' and padel club at 120 Leroy Street opening in 2025 with a $36,000 initiation fee and $7,000 in annual dues. Cafe Mogador will operate a location inside the club with a dress code that can deny entry to those who "do not appear sufficiently well-presented."
