Authorities said the victim, a 51-year-old man, became embroiled in a verbal dispute with the suspect, described as a man between 20 and 30 yearss of age, while on board a southbound train. The clash turned physical and, after the train arrived at Broadway-Lafayette St, spilled out onto the platform where, sources familiar with the case said, the perpetrator pulled out a knife and stabbed the 51-year-old in the back."
