Supporters interviewed included a high school student and Palestinian activist Mahmoud Khalil, who expressed hopes for the new administration. Diana Moreno, a fellow democratic socialist running to succeed Mamdani in the state Assembly, emphasized collective organizing and said, "Organized people will always be more powerful than organized money." Supporters urged the mayor to model progressive governance nationally.
