
"A driver behind the wheel of an SUV struck and killed a 61-year-old woman in Midtown Manhattan on Monday evening, the NYPD announced on Thursday. Police responded to a 911 call at 8:54 p.m. on Dec. 8 that a pedestrian, identified as Forest Hills resident Wendy Davis, had been struck at the intersection of West 53 Street and Broadway. Davis was hit the 61-year-old male driver of a black 2023 Cadillac XT6."
"The was going west in the lefthand lane on West 53rd Street and struck Davis when making a lefthand turn onto Broadway, cops said. Davis experienced trauma to her head and body and was transported to Mount Sinai West hospital by emergency services workers, where she was pronounced dead. The driver was not injured in the crash and remained at the scene, according to police."

The driver was making a left turn from the westbound left-hand lane when the collision occurred. Davis suffered head and body trauma, was taken to Mount Sinai West, and was pronounced dead. The driver remained at the scene and was not injured. The NYPD has not made an arrest and continues to investigate. The intersection recorded three crashes and four injuries over the past year, per NYC Crash Mapper.
