Three people were pronounced dead at the scene and five others were injured, the Oakland Fire Department said. Two of those injured were in critical condition. The driver involved in the crash was also injured, though officials described those injuries as minor.
Funeral services for Trooper Kevin Trainor, the State Police trooper killed by a wrong-way driver in Lynnfield last week, were held Wednesday in Salem. Trainor, 30, grew up in Salem and lived most recently in Georgetown, according to his obituary. Officials have said Trainor was heading home after a shift when he responded to reports of a wrong-way driver on Route 1 in Lynnfield in the early morning hours of May 6.

A Sonoma County fire engine was involved in a crash Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 11, in Windsor while responding to another collision, a department spokesperson said. The accident occurred at 6 p.m. Saturday by the intersection of Pershing Drive and Manchester Avenue where a white Toyota Camry struck the woman and her 3-year-old child, who was a passenger on her bike, according to Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson Charles Miller. Provincial police say a 14-year-old is dead following a two-vehicle collision in Oxford County, Ont., Saturday. PACIFICA A 75-year-old motorist who rear-ended a SamTrans bus earlier this month in Pacifica died Tuesday, authorities said. It was not immediately known if the injuries the motorist suffered in the crash played a role in her death, the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office said in a news release. The collision happened around 4 p.m. on Jan. 8 at Fassler Avenue and the Pacific Coast Highway. The motorist suffered injuries that were believed to be minor at the time, the sheriff's office said.

Toronto police say the person who died after a vehicle crashed into a business in Toronto on Wednesday was a 67-year-old man. Officers responded around 2:28 p.m. near Dufferin Street and Finch Avenue W. to a call for a personal injury collision, police said in a release Thursday. The driver, a 93-year-old male, lost control of his vehicle for unknown reasons and drove into a storefront striking five people who were in the store at the time, the release said.
