Ontario Provincial Police say one person is dead after a two-vehicle collision in Kawartha Lakes Saturday. In a post to social media, police said a cargo van and a car crashed on Highway 35. The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The driver of the cargo van was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A bicyclist killed last week in a Tahoe-area crash has been identified as a Lafayette man. James Booth, 42, died Friday, Nov. 28, after a collision with a car on Mount Rose Highway, the Washoe County medical examiner's office said. The crash was reported around 12:25 p.m. near milepost 17, in the Galena Creek area, the Nevada Highway Patrol said. Both lanes of the highway, which runs between Reno and Incline Village, were closed in the aftermath of the crash.

A 46-year-old BMW driver died early Sunday after he slammed into a support pillar underneath elevated subway tracks in the Bronx, police said. The driver was zipping south on Jerome Ave. in Fordham Heights when he sideswiped an I-beam supporting the overhead No. 4 train tracks near E. 181st St. just before 4:30 a.m., cops said. An 89-year-old woman died after being struck by a car in Coney Island, Brooklyn, on Wednesday afternoon. A woman has died after a multi-car crash in The Township of King over the weekend, York Regional Police say. The incident happened around 4:30 p.m. in the area of Davis Drive W. and Jane Street, police said in a news release issued Tuesday.
