Keleen Wong, 22, was fatally stabbed in Brixton by Kyiza Sandiford, 24, whose use of a knife with a blade more than a foot long was described as ‘appalling’ by the prosecution. The incident captured on dashcam footage led to Sandiford's conviction for murder after a five-week trial at the Old Bailey.
The prosecution argued that Mr. Wong's murder was revenge for the earlier stabbing of Ronaldo Scott, a friend of Sandiford, which created a motive for the attack.
Eyewitness accounts detailed how Sandiford approached Mr. Wong ‘creeping up’ before the violent act, highlighting the premeditated nature of the attack and Sandiford’s attempt to conceal himself with a group of people.
Despite denying his involvement, evidence including DNA found on the knife sheath and a blood trail leading to his hiding place was pivotal in establishing Sandiford as the murderer.
