NYC expands NYPD's Quality-of-Life division
Briefly

The NYPD's Quality-of-Life Teams, or Q-teams, are expanding throughout New York City to tackle neighborhood issues like illegal dumping, noise complaints, and open-air drug use. Since the pilot program began in October 2024, these teams have handled over 41,000 calls and reduced non-emergency response times significantly. Mayor Adams emphasizes the importance of public safety. While some community members report noticeable improvements, others remain skeptical about outcomes like abandoned vehicles still present in neighborhoods.
Our localized precinct-based teams will be helping reduce crime and improve quality of life conditions, working hand-in-hand with the community to both keep our streets safe and clean.
