"Beginning Monday, Dec. 8, the NYC Ferry system will connect Staten Island and Brooklyn. The Economic Development Corporation - which runs the NYC Ferry - officially announced it would connect the two boroughs by boat in November. The boats will travel between the existing fast ferry stops in St. George - near the Staten Island University Hospital Community Park - and the American Veterans Memorial Pier at 69th Street in Bay Ridge."
"With the changes to the NYC Ferry system, the existing St. George route will operate in two segments. The first will run to western Manhattan, with stops at Battery Park City and Midtown West at Pier 79. The new second leg will run between the existing fast ferry stops in St. George and the American Veterans Memorial Pier at 69th Street in Bay Ridge. After Bay Ridge, the route will continue to the Atlantic Avenue stop at Brooklyn Bridge Park."
Starting Dec. 8, NYC Ferry will provide direct boat service linking St. George, Staten Island, and the American Veterans Memorial Pier at 69th Street in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. Passengers disembarking in Bay Ridge must walk under the Belt Parkway overpass and cross Shore Road to reach Bay Ridge Avenue, where they can access the B9 bus to King's Plaza or the B64 to Coney Island. The St. George route will operate in two segments: one serving western Manhattan and a second running St. George–Bay Ridge–Atlantic Avenue at Brooklyn Bridge Park before terminating at Pier 11 in Wall Street. Weekday service begins around 6 a.m., weekend service around 9 a.m., with peak headways near 37 minutes and off-peak about 50 minutes; evening service ends after roughly 9:30–9:40 p.m.
