Juan Rivas, 45, has been arrested and charged in connection with a double stabbing that occurred at an apartment in the Bronx on Saturday at approximately 6:40 a.m. Rivas fatally stabbed 42-year-old Yesenia Hall in the back and neck, and also stabbed Hall's 16-year-old son during the incident. Both victims were transported to Lincoln Hospital, where Hall was pronounced dead and her son remains in stable condition. Rivas and Hall were in a relationship and lived together in the same apartment. He faces charges including murder, attempted murder, manslaughter, criminal possession of a weapon, and assault. The circumstances leading to the stabbing remain under investigation.
