
"According to law enforcement sources, the 35-year-old victim was standing on the southbound R train platform at 36th Street in Sunset Park when the attack occurred just before 5 a.m. on Jan. 18. While waiting for the train, the man was approached from behind and viciously shoved off the platform and onto the tracks. The victim was able to climb back onto the platform and reach safety before a train pulled into the station. Police said he did not know his attacker."
"The suspect, in the meantime, managed to get away, fleeing on foot into parts unknown. Officers from the 72nd Precinct and Transit District 34 rushed to the scene after getting a call about the incident. EMS brought the victim to NYU Langone Hospital in stable condition.
