According to law enforcement sources, the 35-year-old victim was standing on the southbound R train platform at 36th Street in Sunset Park when the attack occurred just before 5 a.m. on Jan. 18. While waiting for the train, the man was approached from behind and viciously shoved off the platform and onto the tracks. The victim was able to climb back onto the platform and reach safety before a train pulled into the station. Police said he did not know his attacker.

The days appear numbered for the striking butter yellow Italianate manse on Fort Greene's South Oxford Street, with developers applying to raze the attractive wood structure and replace it with a five-story apartment building.

The yellow brick building was designed by Eric O. Holmgren for the Sun Heights Building Corporation and completed in 1927, according to a certificate of occupancy. Holmgren practiced in Brooklyn and did a fair amount of work within the Finnish community constructing early co-operative housing. Interestingly, the name carved above the entrance of this building is "Park Slope Homes," despite the location across the street from Sunset Park.

According to police sources, the incident unfolded at around 11 a.m. on Dec. 7 directly outside of 315 58th St. in Sunset Park. Cops say the victim engaged in a verbal dispute with the suspect just prior to the attack. Law enforcement sources said the perpetrator launched a punch that struck the senior's face before he fled the location. The incident was reported to the 72nd Precinct.

Brooklyn detectives are questioning a person of interest after a man was shot dead inside an illegal nightclub on Monday morning. According to police sources, the incident unfolded inside 5002 3rd Ave. in Sunset Park at just after 5 a.m. on Nov. 17. Officers from the 72nd Precinct responded to the location after receiving a 911 call about an assault in progress.
