SIU investigating police-involved shooting after man seriously injured during arrest | CBC News
Briefly

Ontario's police watchdog is currently investigating a police-involved shooting that left a 56-year-old man seriously injured after he threatened others and brandished a staple gun.
The incident began when police were called to an apartment due to the man stabbing someone, followed by him confronting officers with a staple gun.
Officers first attempted to use less-lethal options, including a sock round and conducted energy weapons, before the man barricaded himself in his apartment.
After negotiations failed, police entered his unit where they again resorted to less-lethal means, ultimately arresting the man, who was taken to the hospital.
