"She used to model for me when she was 5 and 6 years old. I had a modeling agency She was beautiful and I just snapped her up, said T.C. Jackson, a resident at the Lincoln Houses NYCHA complex in Harlem, where Underwood's family previously lived for more than 25 years. After she did two fashion shows, she went onto television. She did TV commercials. She had real talent. She did Nickelodeon and then we didn't see her after that."
"She was a very good person. A very smart woman. She would give you the clothes off her back. She went through some stuff. But she was still a good person, the friend, who declined to share their name, said. Honestly I want them to get whoever did this to her. I want her to get justice."
Kianna Underwood, a former Nickelodeon child actress, was killed in a hit-and-run in Brownsville, Brooklyn on the morning of Jan. 16, 2026. She was struck and reportedly dragged two blocks by a black sedan as she attempted to cross Pitkin Ave., and was pronounced dead at the scene. Surveillance video shows her body rolling from under the vehicle. Neighbors and a longtime family friend recalled her early modeling and television work, described her as generous and talented, and expressed a desire for the driver to be found and brought to justice. Underwood had film and TV credits beginning in the late 1990s.
