A 68-year-old woman was assaulted while attempting to park outside the Food Bazaar Supermarket on Manhattan Ave near Moore St in East Williamsburg on Aug. 13 around 7:40 p.m. A man and a woman in a green sedan pulled up behind her; after she signaled them to pass, a dispute occurred. The male suspect approached the driver-side window and argued while the female suspect exited and struck the victim, knocking her to the asphalt. The pair fled east on Varet St. The victim received treatment at Woodhull Hospital for minor injuries. Police recovered surveillance footage and urged anyone with information to contact NYPD Crime Stoppers.
The victim was just about to park outside the Food Bazaar Supermarket on Manhattan Ave. near Moore St. in East Williamsburg when a man and a woman rolled up behind her in a green sedan around 7:40 p.m. on Aug. 13. The woman tried to wave the couple on, indicating she was about to pull into the spot, when the man got out of his car, approached her driver-side window and began arguing with her, she told police.
As the altercation continued, the victim got out of her car, cops said. That's when the other woman stormed up and began punching her in the face, knocking her onto the asphalt in the parking lot. The couple jumped back into their car and sped off. They were last seen heading east on Varet St., cops said. EMS rushed the woman to Woodhull Hospital, where she was treated for minor injuries.
