John Mara declares 'No. 1 issue' for Giants offseason after disastrous 2024
Briefly

"That's obviously the No. 1 issue for us going into this offseason - to find our quarterback of the future," Mara said Monday, after his decision to retain general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll. "Whether that be draft or acquiring a veteran will be up to them to decide."
"I'm not going to put any kind of time limit on it," Mara said, "but I understand where you are going with that." This reveals his reluctance to guarantee stability for Schoen and Daboll, reflecting uncertainty.
"No," Mara said. "We made a decision at the end of the season that was based on a lot of factors, but we obviously had high expectations for Daniel and we didn't achieve those expectations." This highlights accountability and the weight of expectations surrounding Jones.
Mara noted the organization’s history with quarterbacks, including past mistakes with Jones: "We’ve done everything we can to screw up Daniel. We’re looking for a fresh start, but we must be cautious not to repeat past mistakes."
