The New England Patriots, picking fourth in the 2025 NFL Draft, are likely to miss out on top talents like Travis Hunter and Abdul Carter. Reports indicate that both the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants, selecting second and third, respectively, may prioritize position players over quarterbacks, further diminishing the prospects available to the Patriots. In a draft where the Titans are expected to go for QB Cam Ward first overall, the outlook for New England is shifting, suggesting they'll need to explore other options for their fourth overall selection.
It certainly feels like the Cleveland Browns are inclined to look elsewhere aside from quarterback. And it's starting to feel like the New York Giants at No. 3 are starting to look elsewhere other than quarterback.
It's starting to feel to me like there is less and less of a likelihood that Abdul Carter or Travis Hunter get to the Patriots.
Both the Browns and Giants could take position players - Hunter, Carter - at 2 and 3 and then double back on Day 2 and get quarterbacks.
In that case, New England would have to look elsewhere to invest the fourth overall pick.
