Texans safety Jimmie Ward was released from jail after being arrested on a warrant for a felony offense. Due to testing positive for alcohol, he violated bond conditions. His upcoming court appearance is set for Aug. 13, although a reset is expected. Previously, Ward faced a felony charge for assaulting a family member in June, leading to his first arrest. He has yet to participate in training camp due to a foot injury and has been placed on the physically unable to perform list.
Ward was arrested Thursday on a warrant related to a felony offense. His lawyer stated that Ward tested positive for alcohol, violating the condition of his bond release.
Ward was first arrested June 12 at his home in Magnolia, Texas, on a felony charge of assaulting a family/house member, impeding breath circulation.
