The New York Knicks faced a disappointing loss to the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals opener, after leading by 14 points late in the game. Despite the embarrassment of this collapse, the Knicks showed some positives, having played well for a majority of the game. Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns were exceptional, scoring a combined 78 points. Other players like Mikal Bridges, OG Anunoby, and Mitchell Robinson also contributed significantly. Defensively, the Knicks managed to slow key Pacers players, offering hope for their playoff journey ahead.
But before everyone watched hopelessly as their worst nightmares came true, the Knicks did do some good things and did have some good moments last night.
Mikal Bridges was fantastic offensively in the first half. OG Anunoby came alive offensively in the second half.
And defensively, they showed that while not perfect, they had enough to slow down the Pacers for stretches.
New York did a great job of limiting Pascal Siakam and Myles Turner in the second half.
