Mets could upgrade center field by targeting White Sox All-Star | Sporting News
Briefly

The New York Mets have been active in the offseason, acquiring Juan Soto and some pitchers. However, they are still seeking to enhance their lineup, especially in center field, currently occupied by Jose Siri. Bleacher Report's Zachary D. Rymer suggests a trade for Luis Robert Jr., a former All-Star. Despite a disappointing 2024 season, Robert's past performance and accolades indicate potential for a resurgence. His addition could benefit the Mets both offensively and defensively, particularly as they look for replacements for Pete Alonso's production.
The Mets still need a reliever after signing A.J. Minter and would also do well to get a better center fielder than Jose Siri. To the latter end, they remain an on-paper fit for Luis Robert Jr.
Perhaps a change of scenery and a shift to winning club could rejuvenate him. He spent some time on the injured list in 2024, so if he can stay healthy, he could return to form.
Robert has also won a Silver Slugger award and a Gold Glove in his career, so he could be an upgrade offensively and defensively if the Mets do decide to trade for him.
