A violent storm caused a yacht carrying 22 people to sink off the coast of Sicily, leading to one death, with rescue operations ongoing for missing individuals.
Luca Cari, a spokesman for Italy's firefighter corps, informed that expert divers are being dispatched to search the sunken vessel located 50 meters underwater.
The boat, named Bayesian, was a 56-meter-long Italian-made sailing yacht that first launched in 2008, now facing deep-sea recovery challenges.
While 15 of the initial passengers were rescued, the situation remains critical with six individuals still reported missing and recovery efforts heavily underway.
