NASA warns chances of asteroid hitting Earth have INCREASED
Briefly

NASA has reported a rise in the probability of asteroid 2024 YR4 colliding with Earth, now at 2.3%. This asteroid, detected by a NASA-funded observatory in Chile, poses a significant risk as it approaches for a close pass on December 2, 2032. Measuring between 40 to 90 meters in diameter, 2024 YR4 is capable of causing considerable damage. It currently represents the highest threat level of any known asteroid, as no other large objects have a higher than one percent chance of impacting Earth.
The odds of asteroid 2024 YR4 colliding with Earth have increased to 2.3%, marking it as the biggest known impact threat currently monitored.
Astronomers from the NASA-funded Asteroid Terrestrial-impact Last Alert System first spotted 2024 YR4 in December, recognizing it as a significant potential hazard.
With a size similar to the Statue of Liberty, 2024 YR4 could cause serious destruction if it were to collide with Earth on December 2, 2032.
NASA's Sentry system places 2024 YR4 at the top of impact risks, with increased probability since last week when it was only 1.3%.
