In Luxembourg City, a newly completed water tower serves as a unique bird habitat while fulfilling its infrastructure role. Designed by Temperaturas Extremas Arquitectos, it prioritizes avian needs by featuring a permeable wooden skin that promotes nesting and vegetation growth. Located within a protected ecological site, the tower incorporates features like bat roosts and dedicated spaces for peregrine falcons. Completed just recently, the structure is already attracting various bird species, indicating success in its intended function as both water infrastructure and a wildlife sanctuary.
"Vegetation has begun to conquer the building and its surroundings. It is beginning to be a calm place."
