This Toad Is So Tiny That They Call It a Flea
Briefly

At just 6.95 millimeters in length, the newly discovered Brachycephalus dacnis is one of the smallest known vertebrates, showcasing the extremities of life size on Earth.
As soon as Dr. Luis Felipe Toledo heard the audio recordings of the tiny frogs in Brazil's Atlantic forest, he realized he was listening to something unprecedented.
This new species, Brachycephalus dacnis, not only resembles a cricket in its sounds but intriguingly, it also does not undergo the tadpole stage in its life cycle.
The frog belongs to Brazil's Atlantic forest, where other frogs of the Brachycephalus genus, known as saddleback toads or flea toadlets, are also found.
