Paulding Putnam Electric Cooperative (PPEC) has commenced construction on its high-speed fiber internet project, which aims to serve communities in Northwest Ohio and Northeast Indiana by fall 2025. The project started in the Latty substation area with ITG Communications tasked with hanging mainline fiber. PPEC emphasizes a community-focused approach, ensuring connectivity improvements where they are most needed. The initiative not only promotes better broadband access but also enhances electric service reliability through improved communication and outage management for all PPEC members.
The electric side will benefit as well," said Nick Eltzroth, PPEC Chief Operating Officer. "All members will see the benefit of connecting our substations using fiber technology.
PPEC's fiber internet service arm is designed with the same member-first values that have defined the co-op's electric operations.
