This week, Florida-based fiber provider Summit Broadband announced the implementation of a new brand promise. According to the company's announcement, "This strategic direction marks a significant step for Summit Broadband, reinforcing its investment in network infrastructure and its relationships with both residential and commercial customers across Florida. The company's renewed focus aims to drive innovation, foster stronger community ties, and ultimately deliver an unparalleled customer experience."

Fiber internet has long been recognized as the "gold standard" of broadband technology, offering the highest speeds and the most reliability. In the recent past, it was only available in some parts of a few major cities. But fiber is growing fast: the Fiber Broadband Association estimates that 76 million American homes have switched to fiber in the past year, a growth of 13 percent.

More than a quarter of Baby Boomers are skeptical about the value of fiber internet, while almost half of Millennials consider it essential.

"Fiber internet has proven to be the fastest, most reliable technology available, and we believe that Barnstable and countless communities throughout the Commonwealth deserve access to ultrafast speeds and a choice when it comes to their internet service provider."

Palo Alto's Fiber internet aims to attract residents with better customer service and competitive pricing despite higher rates than established providers AT&T and Xfinity.
