Airports evoke unusual behaviors in travelers due to the stress associated with flying. The author notes this change in their mother, who, although normally composed, becomes anxious and loses her sense of time and social awareness before her flights. The pervasive anxiety can be even more pronounced in individuals with existing tendencies towards negative behavior. This observation raises awareness about how travel can impact our interactions and stress levels in public spaces, highlighting a need for patience from fellow travelers.
I'd be happy if people could just pretend like they've been in public before.
Some weird stuff happens to people at the airport. Maybe it's the stress of travel, but my mother is a normal, functioning member of society. However, once it's time to fly, she changes.
She doesn't become an asshole or anything, but all concepts of time and spacial/social awareness are gone.
I'm guessing anyone that already has asshole tendencies becomes 10 times worse.
