Keeping it in the family: never-before-seen Picasso works to go on show in New York with help from the artist's descendants
Briefly

This spring, two concurrent exhibitions featuring Pablo Picasso's works are being held in New York, organized in collaboration with his family. The Gagosian's 'Tête-à-tête' showcases pieces from Paloma Picasso’s personal collection, highlighting works never before publicly displayed. These selections emphasize theme rather than chronology, reflecting Picasso’s own exhibition practices. This exhibition also marks Gagosian's last event at its current location before relocating. The exhibit aims to honor Picasso's legacy while sharing lesser-known works with the public for the first time.
"Showing my father's work as he wanted it to be seen-in conversation across subjects and periods-is a fitting tribute to his legacy," Paloma Picasso says.
"A number of the works we selected haven't been seen since my father had them in his studio," Paloma Picasso reveals about the collection.
