Hawaii teen facing 10-year sentence for stealing pet pig, killing it for $1k hunting contest prize
Briefly

A 19-year-old, Jayden Jarnesky-Magana, and his accomplice stole a pet pig named Eddie and slaughtered him for a $1,000 hunting contest, leading to their arrest for animal cruelty. The theft and animal slaughter, depicted in a social media video, raised suspicions due to Eddie's weight and neutering. Both teens are charged with first-degree animal cruelty and livestock theft, with sentences up to 10 years possible. The pig's owner, Sarah Haynes, organized a rally to raise awareness about animal cruelty, highlighting Eddie’s friendly nature.

Nobody believed him. The pig had been neutered and was much heavier than typical wild pigs. Eddie was even too heavy for the two men to carry.
