"I figured, like worst-case scenario, I have six months to pay it off without interest," Fluty said. Fluty created a GoFundMe to cover the cost, and to help other cats.
A member of the public reported the discovery of an antlered white-tailed deer's body to police on Jan. 1 in Park Lawn Cemetery. Officers located a dead deer with an arrow coming out of its body, said Toronto police in an emailed statement, adding there is no suspect description at this time. Ministry conservation officers were notified of the incident and have taken over the investigation.
A Massachusetts man was sentenced in federal court Thursday for his role in creating and distributing videos "depicting acts of extreme violence and sexual abuse against animals," officials said. Garrett Fitzgerald, of Scituate, was sentenced to 30 months in prison, three years of supervised release, and 100 hours of community service after pleading guilty to conspiring to create and distribute the so-called "animal crush videos," federal authorities said.
Authorities allege Haney intentionally struck 79-year-old Axelrod with his car near the intersection of Commonwealth Avenue and Hereford Street around 8 a.m. Saturday. He allegedly drove onto the Commonwealth Avenue Mall and fled the scene after mowing the philanthropist down. Tewksbury police are asking for help identifying a driver they say intentionally ran over and killed several seagulls earlier this week. The incident happened around 12:06 p.m. Thursday in the parking lot of 1777 Main St., a strip mall with several stores and restaurants. Surveillance video shared by the Tewksbury Police Department shows a dark-colored SUV plowing through a flock of seagulls resting on the ground, causing most of the birds to scatter and take flight.

The animals were discovered alongside a 95-year-old woman who was confined on the second floor of the property, Suffolk County authorities said Thursday. Samantha Boyd, 57, and her partner, Neal Weschler, 61, were arrested after investigators obtained a warrant to search their property the previous day.

Prosecutors said that around 6 p.m. on Aug. 23, Fyffe was seen on 133rd Avenue near Gwen Ifill Park in Locust Manor wrapping duct tape around a white and tan pit bull's snout, eyes, front legs, and back legs. When confronted by a witness and another individual, Fyffe allegedly pulled out a knife and waved it at them.
