Kay Adams backs Shedeur Sanders after QB's interview ignites controversy
Briefly

Kay Adams, host of 'Up & Adams,' defended Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders who faced criticism for wearing a hood during a low-key interview at Pittsburgh's airport. Adams noted Sanders was trying to be respectful and low-profile after visiting the Steelers. She condemned the harsh judgments from the public that overlooked the context of the situation, emphasizing that other players would not have faced the same scrutiny. Sanders, the son of Deion Sanders, is considered a polarizing figure in the upcoming NFL draft, and reactions to his demeanor have stirred debate.
"I enjoyed my time in Pittsburgh, I think I connected well with all the coaches, and it was real fun," said Sanders, who sported a pullover onscreen.
"He was at the airport, he had his hood on. He was being so low-key, he just left the Pittsburgh facility and he was around tons of people trying not to be seen," Adams said.
"I don't think any other player that could have shown up that way, nobody cared about the context, everyone just made a judgment like, 'Take your hood off, that's disrespectful,'" Adams said.
"In that moment, everyone is so critical, and I hate everyone for that, and I champion him," Adams said.
