Phyllis Kay was born on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 1938, in Rockford, Illinois, and went on to have an impactful career in education and theater.
After earning a BS in Education from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1960, Phyllis taught English and drama while producing local theater productions.
She later moved to Southern California, where her career expanded as she taught at La Canada High School and worked in casting at NBC Studios.
Phyllis married James Mott in 1966, raising four children while actively participating in their sports and volunteering in her community.
