An iconic French bistro is the latest victim in a wave of West Hollywood closures
Briefly

Le Petit Four, a popular French-Californian bistro in West Hollywood, has closed after 44 years amid rising costs and decreasing pedestrian traffic. Owner Alexandre Morgenthaler cited increased minimum wage and rent as major challenges, alongside a reduction in sales since the pandemic. The restaurant saw its revenue drop from over $4 million to about $3.5 million annually and a decrease in staff from 64 to 50. Despite community efforts to support the restaurant, its final closure on March 31 was necessitated by a court order regarding back rent.
"Since COVID everything went up in price. Minimum wage went up 30% in West Hollywood. We lost traffic," owner Alexandre Morgenthaler stated.
