A San Jose BBQ & Brews event on Saturday, May 30 will bring together pitmasters, craft beer brewers, and musicians to raise funds for people facing housing insecurity in the Bay Area. More than a dozen Bay Area pitmaster teams will compete in meat-smoking categories and serve food to attendees. Award-winning craft brewers will pour beers, and the event will feature multiple bands and DJs. Gates open at noon at Plaza Park in downtown San Jose, with activities running through 7 p.m. Proceeds support the Housing Industry Foundation’s mission to prevent homelessness by providing rental and security deposit assistance, shelter repairs and upgrades, and other emergency needs. General admission costs $75 and includes seven barbecue tastings and seven craft brew tastings.
